I have been a regular customer of your store, but after today’s experience, I will not be returning.

Today, I visited the store with my aunt, who was visiting me from New York. We traveled from Irving specifically because we have always preferred shopping at this location. I have brought my aunt here before, and since she is my guest, I always ensure she has a great shopping experience.

During our visit, we picked up a bottle of oil, which had a clearly mentioned limit of two per customer. I understood this and complied with the rule. At checkout, the cashier, named Almira (as stated on the receipt), was assisting us. I informed her upfront that two bottles were mine and the other two belonged to my aunt. However, she refused the purchase, stating that the store policy did not allow it. I reiterated that my aunt was making a separate transaction with a different payment method and was an independent customer. The cashier then consulted the manager from a distance, who immediately refused without any further clarification.

I would like to highlight that I have never faced this issue before. Other cashiers and the previous manager were always accommodating and professional. However, today, there was a new, young manager in charge.

Since the cashier refused to proceed, I told my aunt to complete her purchase separately after mine. However, when it was my aunt’s turn, the cashier once again refused to process the transaction. When I questioned why, given that she was a separate customer with her own payment method, she simply stated that the manager had denied it. I then requested to speak directly with the manager.

When the manager arrived, I explained that my aunt and I were making separate purchases. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, he sarcastically laughed and said, “How is that even possible?” I found this response highly unprofessional and disrespectful. No customer should have to justify their personal relationships in order to make a purchase. His dismissive attitude was not only inappropriate but also reflected poor customer service.

The manager then tried to justify the refusal by stating that the store wants to ensure all customers get a fair chance to buy products. While I understand limiting purchases for fairness, the logic behind this decision was flawed. If my aunt and I had used separate shopping carts, would we have still been denied? If I had made my purchase, left, and returned later or the next day, would they have stopped me based on facial recognition? The inconsistency in policy enforcement suggests a major lack of managerial competence.

This is the same thing as if I were working at a Walmart store and a customer told me, “This is my husband, my relative, or something else.” As an employee, can I even say that to them? How is this even possible? This just cannot happen, like WTF? And here, the so-called manager even told me this.

After a prolonged and unnecessary debate, the manager finally instructed the cashier to proceed with the transaction. However, by then, the entire experience had left a very negative impression. The cashier, instead of being apologetic, told me to “calm down”, which was completely inappropriate given the situation. It was not about just purchasing the oil; it was about the way the situation was handled—with unnecessary resistance, lack of common sense, and an unprofessional attitude.

A store of World Food Warehouse’s reputation should prioritize customer respect, professionalism, and logical policy enforcement. This experience has made me question the store’s management and customer service standards. I would strongly urge a review of employee training and store policies to prevent such incidents in the future.

I regret that I can’t give a rating lower than one star; otherwise, I certainly would. I am extremely disappointed and will no longer be shopping here.

I love this place! Bit dirty, do not recommend going Saturday evening. Produce is great, but be aware you have to eat it in the next day or two. They have fresh baked naan and great selection of produce

World food warehouse is mostly a Mediterranean produce/grocery place with good quality and affordable prices. I would definitely suggest to try and enjoy their snacks which are fresh and tasty. Halal meat is also offered at competitive prices.

Cheap prices on different items just about every week. The people are usually very nice here as well. Also, you need to try the samosas and various breads they make there! Very delicious, and it's definitely something we look forward to when we go. They do have Halal meat there if that's something you are looking for, and also a ton of imported foods as well. Try it out, and you'll end up going at least twice a month like we do

It is a very ethnic store, really feels like you are in a market in another country. Prices are very reasonable for many items.

I wish the olive oil section was better labeled. I wanted to buy Palestinian olive oil but because i did not see the prices listed or the ones that showed palestinian flag did not confirm that they were a product of palestine, i went with a labeled Syrian one.

The largest and most inclusive Arabic and Halal market in the area, though it could benefit from better organization and improved the parking lot.

Want to take a step back into an ethnic grocery store from decades gone by? This is the place. Things piled into every corner, a true treasure hunt trying to find anything but if you have a hankering for something from India and like a little bit of a challenge, this is your place. The prices are decent, especially the fruit by the front door, this is where you will find bargains not found elsewhere.
