Went to Smart & Final, in Whittier , on Whittier Bl., on 8/10 at 1 pm to purchase coffee mate for the false advertisement price of 99 cents ,32oz bottle, they were out; went back at 7pm still out, was told the truck would arrive that night; went 8/11 at 11AM, No truck came in, was told later that evening, went back at 7pm, No truck; I asked for a” rain check” was told NO from store Mgr. Art thru an employee; And the coffee mate commercial ran All Day during Dodger’s game; Smart & Final, “Please have planty of stock when you advertise something on sale!! , or give a Rain Check!!

I personally had a good experience. Guard shack was polite and attentive and directed me what I needed to do. There are also signs you should read to follow directions. Otr drivers do make a u-turn near dock 41 in order to back up at assigned dock. Once you back up go in between dock 14 and 15 to receiving there you will talk to a lumper.

Arrived at Smart & Final Distribution Center to deliver a load & walked myself in to the guard shack to check in. The guard at the shack had a huge attitude problem & was very disrespectful, he was also on his cell phone. I asked him for his supervisor/name and number & he refused to provided to se saying, " It's none of your business " I asked him for his name and also refused to provide me with his name. He is a Hispanic male, bold head, slim figure, 5'4" +/-., 140 lbs. time of incident was 0620. We are truckers, we are here to deliver/pick up goods/loads and the least we want it's a disrespectful and nasty attitude guard in our process to get checked in or out.

Personally, I don't have a bad experience with the place. As a Hispanic person. You work hard and if you have anything wrong, you report it immediately. You don't stay quiet and make a big deal out of it, right When the company is leaving..
as you can read all these comments, it's only white people. And Asians, they're complaining..
It's pretty bad to see these comments from people that get paid over $30 an hour for really not doing anything...
In order to fix the problem, you need to report a problem first ..
I mean, if you have proof they did all this and have been reporting it & they dont dk anythingabout it..
Then you just get an attorney.
Because obviously your union wasn't doing. Their union job, so maybe you should change unions.

Worst place to unload. If you have appointment at 10am make sure you check in at 9:50am because they not allow you to check in even at 9:40am Very rude security guard. And unloading time 3hours plus. I wish there is negative star i can give you.

Ima give it a 4 only because once they start to unload you, they go fast, appointment was at 10am , checked 9:15am got a door and didn’t start until 12pm and was done 12:25pm

I'm not surprised that most people in these reviews think this location is unfriendly. At check-in, security made me break my seal instead of them. Then, when I was given directions, they talked very fast and annoyed as if I was bothering them. Because of that, I made a mistake and attempted to make a u-turn by the receiving office instead of dock 41. I thought I had enough clearance to do so, but ended up having to undo my position to prevent a jackknife. After finally backing into my door and checking into the office, a staff member demanded to know why I was late. I told him that I notified my company in advance that I was going to be because of traffic. So he scoffed and said that he was about to refuse me since apparently he wasn't told anything. Ultimately, it was a very frustrating delivery, and it was one of the worst ones I have had in a while. I hope this place realizes how poorly they treat their drivers if they intend on staying in business. What a shame!
