STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM!
The salesperson assured me they were not a broker and the owner later admitted to me that they do hire brokers do conduct their sales.
My items ready to be moved exactly matched the quoted itinerary - and yet they still tried to double my original quote.
Their dispatch employee even admitted to me that their system āauto assigns sizeā and assumes everything āstacks directly on top of each otherā.
They arrived after the communicated window and failed to pick up the items as agreed apon in the contract (they said they had to come the next day). Even after all this they refused to refund me my deposit.
This ācompanyā systemically manipulates their processes to rip you off.
NEVER EVER USE ROYAL MOVING!!!

Absolutely horrible company. Pick up dates were messed up, zero communication between company and drivers, zero communication once they receive your deposit, lies told when they say they accommodate to new dates or times, new moving company was ācontractedā to attempt to move my items after I was assured that this would not happen and this is what set their company different from other moving companies which turned out to be completely untrue. When speaking to the company I was told that I could cancel and would get my deposit back. Then was told to call this number for my deposit which a RUDE manager answered and said I would NOT get my deposit. Iāve been disputing my almost $1000 deposit with them but havenāt had luck since they delete previous contracts given or rather they āexpire.ā Very suspicious activity and a lot of ways to cover their tracks as a moving company. Sleazy way to run a company and taking advantage of people in stressful situations.
Do not fall for the ākind and caringā reps that help book and take your deposit because they have horrendous workers running management and customer support. You donāt speak with booking reps if you encounter an issue with your move.
Glad I didnāt move forward with moving my items with them and will be reporting to the BBB.

The worst customer service Iāve ever experienced; and Iām a 53 year old female. This company performed half the job when the āleader of the group of fourā attempted to extort an additional $1,000 from me while my belongings were on the truck still. I was told the truck would not be unloaded until I agreed to the additional charges (which I was told would be refunded to me)ā¦suspect as hell. I had to call the cops in order to get them to agree to the contracted amount. Seriously this company is horrible!!!! I wish I could give it zero stars but as it is I can only give it the promise of a lawsuit; and I always said Iād never be that person. Stay FAR away

Iam currently waiting on ver 17 days for my things. No eta, iāve tried calling and emailing and texting Desiree the sales person no response. Itās time to call the Better Business Bureau and maybe start a class action lawsuit is the only way to get these people shut down if they donāt do what they promise. If the owners . If there is a member of a leadership team, if you guys even have one, you might want to reach out!!! When they came to pick up my things in Seattle Washington, the main guy was meeting the other two guys so Iām guessing they sub everything out.

Bottom line? Over half of my furniture and appliances arrived damaged or missing parts, some of it a total loss. There were no reported accidents, vandalism, or acts of God in transit, so I can only assume Royal Moving & Storage either simply couldn't be bothered to take care of my stuff, or they have very low standards for care. Probably both.
I'll offer criticisms of their business, but first, just look at the numbers. They have very little financial incentive to do the job right. Their base liability is 60 cents on the pound per damaged item. That means for a 100 pound item, you'd get compensated $60 (assuming the claims outfit finds the damage is significant and was their fault). So, even if it's ten items in question, compensation amounts to a small percentage on a move they've charged thousands for--and they have their own insurance so they're not paying out of pocket. But for you, that $60 is quite probably not going to touch the total replacemnent cost of your item. That doesnt even include the time and cost of finding a suitable replacement, costs of shipping and handling and installation, the hassle of doing without the piece while it's being replaced, and so on. Now consider that many items will have a higher replacement cost/weight ratio (your designer name table may be worth hundreds but weigh only 40 pounds, so you'll get $24).
Could be that's industry standard. And yes, you can pay RM&S more to insure the items at a higher level. Maybe you have home owner's or renter's insurance that covers stuff damaged in transit (many policies don't). Does any of that buy you peace of mind knowing they have a relatively poor track record (as of this writing, < 3.5 stars on Google reviews)? Chances are, unless you don't mind losing your stuff, you'll want to think twice about moving with these guys. Why gamble when you want security? An actual example: I paid extra $$$ to have my television wrapped according to their standards so it would be covered in case of loss. Even then, this TV was damaged, a total loss. Maybe I'll get $30. An added cruelty, they managed to ruin the wall hanging mount. Now, for criticisms. As other reviewers have said, the initial estimate means nothing. On moving day, when it was far too late to change plans, the price jumped 50%. How? The cost of the move is a function of the volume of all your goods once they're on the truck (NOT their weight!). Because these movers are paid by the hour, they have no incentive to take the time to pack that truck as you might, like a Tetris puzzle made of finest china. My mover told me my stuff was bulkier than estimated, so I decided to leave several larger pieces out. It didn't change the bottom line. I asked him to consider packing things more tightly. He said not to worry, the space on the truck is reserved based on the estimate, and we had room. How did we have room, within the estimate, but the cost shot up 50%? (Cue the business rep who offers the red herring that the cost of a move also depends on how many stairs they have to climb, the distance of the move, etc. It's irrelevant: all such factors are known costs when the estimate is made.). The truck they used to pick my stuff up? A Penske rental, NOT a company vehicle. You think they'll treat a rental with anywhere near the care and pride they'd show a company-owned vehicle? Nah, it's sketch. The moving guys themselves? RM&S insists they screen all of their movers (background checks & drug tests) and train them. That makes for great brochures, and it may be true of a certain cadre of their movers, but it's not 100% accurate. Their movers are free to bring in whomever they want for assistance. As near as I can tell they rely on a loose network of associates, virtually unknown to HQ. One guy was simply paid out of pocket. Another mover lamented that many of his crew had no clue how to protect themselves by lifting properly, avoiding falling objects rather than trying catch them, etc. Do yourself a favor and consider selling your stuff before trusting any of it to this fly by night company.

What started as a decent experience ended in a horrific nightmare. The team that moved my belongings out of my apartment did a good job (the real Royal movers) -but I was not made aware until after the truck drove away that another company would be taking my stuff on an 18 wheeler to my home in another state. The moving company, that I still do not have a name for (they told me nationwide and Morgan van lines and the side of their truck says Florida movers with a phone number that doesn't work), did not show up on Their promised date (6 days after pick up) and called me to say they would arrive between 1-3 pm four days later. Again they did not show and did not call. When the driver finally returned my numerous calls he made up a story about a death in the family and he could not complete his drive and he did not have cell reception to call me for a full 24 hours (but magically had reception again when I left a rude message). So he arrives the next day and expects payment BEFORE my belongings are unloaded and checked/ I refused to pay until my belongings were unloaded because I already felt suspicious of this company. long story short they held my belongings for an entire day, the company "supervisor" named Justin called me a liar and rude names and threatened to keep my belongings until I paid an extra $500 to their driver (his name is Earnest he said). Both Earnest and Justin argued with my non stop- at one point earnest became so out of line I had to CALL THE POLICE to have him removed from my garage because he was towering over me and my 4 year old daughter, shouting at me to give him his money or he would keep my stuff! Royal movers received several calls from me (15 I have recorded) and kept telling me I had to just give him his extra money and be quiet and they would "deal with it later" or The driver would not give me my stuff. This is one of the most unprofessional companies and worst experiences I have EVER dealt with and I will 100% make sure that social media sees this and knows they will do nothing but scam you out of your money, not arrive when they are supposed to, and do nothing to make it right (oh except tell you that you are a liar and argue with you non stop) ... My spouse is a solider and we move frequently and this is the last time I will ever trust a civilian company to make my move. Horrible! Do not hire this company you will be very sorry!!!!

They kept finding reasons to add on to what was supposed to be their bottom line price once they came to move my furniture and items. They promised three days that came out to be eleven. They couldnāt explain why my items had been sitting in the back of their trucks for days in over one hundred degree heat. When the movers finally came, they tried to milk me for an additional three hundred dollars. Some of my boxes came up missing in their possession which I alerted them to and their insurance company said there was nothing they could do because Royal movers refused to respond. And thereās more.

OK, so take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. I just finished my move with Royal Movers, and despite a few hiccups, it was a great service.
In long distance moves, the same company is not handling the entire thing. Royal Movers packs up your stuff, and then a freight truck is chosen to transport the goods based on the current routes drivers are taken. Most of the time the truck moving your goods is not affiliated with the initial moving company. They are contracted. Moving across the country is no simple endeavor, but Royal Moving makes every effort to make it a pleasant process.
Word of advice: You must give them exact inventory for the move if you don't want to get additional charges. Down to the exact pieces of furniture, number of boxes and their size, etc. It's not fun, but they get charged by the freight truck by square foot, so it needs to be exact. I thought I did a decent job, but still went over by a bit and was upcharged $280 on the day of the move. This was MY fault, not the company's. Take a final count of everything the day before the move and let Royal know, and you won't incur additional fees.
The truck got to me 6 days after the initial move, fairly quickly all things considered. When everything was moved in, one of my desks was broken. They paid for it. I also thought something was missing and called the owner at 10:00pm on a Sunday, and he answered, pretty much unheard of in business today. He cares about making sure the move goes well. (I ended up finding the lost item as well, btw).
The individuals moving me were quick and courteous as well. Packed everything with care, and with the exception of my desk (which in fairness was made of a composite poly-wood, not exactly the most sturdy of materials), everything arrived in the condition in which it left.
If I had to do it over, I'd go with Royal movers again. I don't doubt the individuals with negative reviews here had a negative experience, but just know it's not the norm. I highly recommend them!
