We have shopped at Potters since they opened in Smithville and the staff has always very professional and we received good service. Today I went to get some mulch and the young man that loaded the mulch had his pants fastened and cinched below the cheeks of his butt, so that every time he went to get a bag of mulch, his entire butt showed, not just partial but the entire butt! I'm not sure where the management was today, but someone needs to instruct him to pull his dang pants up!!

We were in a bind and needed plywood fast. A friend told us to come here for the best pricing in town. We purchased 4x8 PT plywood and aluminum-faced insulation board, still at a hefty price. First off, know there is an extremely limited selection across the board on everything here. Many items, they just do not stock or they run out quickly according to the cashier. The manager is just plain grumpy, not friendly. When employees asked questions, he acted put out to have to answer, even though they were obvious questions that were prompted by customers. Geez. Sorry to trouble you, guy.

After the icy inside purchase, we drove to the lumber side to get the products loaded. We were greeted by an employee who let us know he was in a big hurry to leave because he had some place he had to be! His co-worker brought a large stack of the plywood around on a forklift. This has to be the WORST LOOKING pile of junk I've ever seen! ALL the boards were broken on the ends and waffled/warped. I drew the line on a board that was completely cracked in the middle! We are NOT talking about a hairline crack, but an open crack across 30% of the whole board. They looked like they had been rammed into something with the forklift. When asked to pull off the cracked piece, it obviously annoyed the workers. The insulation board looked pretty mangled as well with pieces of the facing torn off.

Since it was mid-afternoon on Saturday, we were out of other options at this point. This will teach me to ever complain again about service at the big box stores. Their quality of products and availability, even during the fake pandemic is better than this! This will be our LAST visit to this place.

Everyone is very friendly and helpful. However they are a bit steep on their prices. But they carry Royal paint which I think is better than Sherwin.

I will not be back. They post one price, but ring up another. This has happened more than once, one guy explaining that they can't keep up with "all of the price changes!". It's called bait and switch man! Then they act as if they were going out of their way just to help you out. Let them know they were out of a certain size of a product, he said that they had plenty of them...yes, but not that size. Had to come home and wash stupid off my hands. Never again.

Terrible customer service. Was up at the lake on Memorial Day weekend when I discovered one of my boat bunks was rotted into. I didn’t have any tools but was able to buy everything I needed for about $30 except a saw. I went in into Potters and spent about 30 min looking for all the hardware I might need and not one person offered to help. In fact one looked annoyed when I asked where the restroom was. I took my stuff the the cashier and told them I needed two 10 ft 2x6’s but asked if they could cut them down to 9’1” and I explained that I was in a jam being out of town etc. the young guy behind the counter asked an older lady who said no. Then she said “radio and ask them”. Whoever “them” was also said no. So I left everything on the counter and drove down to Curtis hardware where I was warmly greeted and assisted with all the hardware. I then asked about cutting the boards and the were all too happy to help and get me out of there in 10 min. If you ever have a hardware need in Smithville, go to Curtis hardware instead.

This is one of our local builder's supply centers that carry a vast array of not only building supplies but items for in-home repairs. If they don't have something you need, ask them if they can get it for you. You will be pleasantly surprised with the capability of their employees. They will always go the second mile for you, and with other Hardware stores and a Tractor Supply Company in our town. They are very competitive with their pricing and are willing to meet or beat any advertised competitors pricing. Thank You

Great store I can't help but look on every isle before I can leave the store but I wish the employees would help more rather than make me feel like I got my parole number tattooed on my head "seriously guys if I was going to steal it wouldn't be from a tool store where most things I want are so big I'm going to trip over it trying to get away and get busted anyways. I mean could you see me trying to walk out the store with a box of 16 penny nail under my shirt? Or better yet.how bout I try for a 16' 2x6 I think I could get that out the door without being noticed
