Please save yourself from losing your money, time, and sanity. Hayley Management does not care about you or your well being. They will take every penny they can and they do not take care of their rental properties. We have had the misfortune to be living in an uninhabitable house of theirs. We have lived bere for 11 months and have 15 maintenance requests on file. The fixes are normally temporary. We have had our washer and dryer break, kitchen light fall from the ceiling, bathroom light was incorrectly wired so it shocked us when we turned it on or off, toilet leaking, ceiling leaked in our bedroom so we had to keep our bed in the living room, and worst of all is the basement flooding and back door leaking. The back door leaks significantly when it rains, flowing down the basement stairs, making the stairs hazardous. Water seeps in through the basement walls and baseboards as well. In January, we woke up to three inches of water in the basement, ruining many of our belongings. They replaced the water pump but we still would find puddles in the basement after rain. We brought this to Hayley Management's attention and they told us there was nothing they could do to fix it. They expected us to live with this. We told them that is unacceptable and will be breaking our lease. In response, they would only let us out if we found a replacement tenant but no one should live here until the issues are fixed. We had to contact a lawyer to explain to them that we are legally obligated to terminate our lease. Seeing that they already have the unit listed to be available only four days after our move out, I doubt they have plans to fix the issues. I will attach examples of the damages. And yes, that is a mushroom growing behind the toilet.

$1700 deposit not refunded.
I have been in an ongoing (months) dispute with HMC about my deposit refund for weeks. First, they did not send the check at all, and I it took weeks to get them to “re-send” the check. Once it finally arrived, it was short several hundred dollars. There were cleaning fees and other items on the bill that absolutely should not have been charged. I left the unit cleaner than when I moved into it— empty, dusted, swept, and mopped. I took videos and photos upon move-in AND move-out. I am in the process of trying to file a dispute, which they will ONLY discuss on email and refuse to address via phone. I have requested for a drop-box which I can submit my photos and videos (files too large to email) but the extremely unprofessional deposits department has stopped replying. I called about this, and they said they won’t do anything about it and that I can just go to court. I live 8 hours away in medical school now but will have to make plans to tend to this. This company has been extremely unprofessional and sleazy. They are probably of the worst in Auburn/Opelika. Avoid them.

We have really enjoyed renting from HM. They have been very flexible with us and helped us find the best home for us! We’ve submitted maintenance requests and they had handled them for us. This has been a wonderful start to us living in Auburn!

Completely unresponsive to mildew, mold or bug issues. Don't waste your energy cleaning the unit when moving because you will not get your deposit back. They have an extensive list of items that must be completed when moving out. After spending a day cleaning and addressing each item, you still will not get your deposit back. This is a money making opportunity for Hayley Management. The worst management company ever.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We were forced to decide on if we were renewing our lease 6 months early, and they were raising their rent by a couple hundred dollars. They failed to mention to us the house has been broken into- we discovered this the first day we were there inspecting the house. Their lawn crew is terrible, you never know when they are going to be there and they make it look TERRIBLE. They never answer the phone or respond to us. Never came out to fix the issues we marked on the sheet when moving in.

Since back in January we didn't know what was gonna be going on in AUGUST, we told them no for now on renewing the lease. They then decided to have showings whenever they wanted and made us leave the house during this time. We got 2 days warning, but were uncomfortable given we have very valuable things and someone could very easily unlock something for them to break into the house later on.

TERRIBLE company. Do no rent with them. RUN. FAST. the other direction.

We lived with Hayley Management for about 20 months and had such a positive experience. I wanted to write this review to thank Anne for her commitment to assisting us through the process of ending our lease and finding a new tenant to take over. She was available every step of the way and wanted to work with us. Her compassion and kindness were remarkable. Can't say enough positive things about her work!

Very poor experience (is the nice way of putting it) with this company from signing the lease (should have backed out when I could have) to finishing the lease. Customer service (in particular "Joey") is absolutely terrible and is the main reason I am writing this review. This company has mistakenly charged us additional fees 3 times at this point (after the lease has been completed). They have called to fix the problem come to find out the issue is on them. The total additional fees is over $150 at this point. Which they have called and said "not to worry this will be waived". A month later, Joey (the person who called and spoke to us most recently) calls to share that is not the case. Proceeds to call me untruthful (you can imagine how upsetting this is having gone through this process with them 3 times) saying the call never happened and demands additional funds before this is sent to collections. Extremely unprofessional, "Joey" should never have a position where he is interacting with paying customers. However, unfortunately he does "manage this area". Whenever a management company messes us and accrues fees from their suppliers, their cost should NEVER be passed onto their tenants. Awful awful company to every do business with. I strongly advise for your mental health, your financial situation, and your lively hood to never sign any contract with this company. Chances are you will end up like me along with the 100s of other people here writing 1 star reviews. Sad to see this company is still in business. Good luck to those reading this review.

Lived in two different units under Hayley Management. Maintenance is always prompt, though not always effective (takes multiple tries to fix anything). Rent is paid online which is easy. However, towing is terrible at all locations, and we have had our vehicles towed from our own homes. Also, security deposit is first months rent (which apparently is not standard), and you WILL NOT GET IT BACK. We spent days scrubbing, vacuuming, mopping, even pressure washed drive way, and only received 200 of our 1600 dollar security deposit. Overall mediocre experience, very money hungry, and they do not care about you.
