For dumping stuff other than everyday recyclables, call first to be sure they're not FULL! If they are, there's nowhere else in the area for Greene County residents (unless you have a business). When you get there, to see all of the categories, it's best to drive around it once. Otherwise, things that might seem to belong in the "Brown Goods" might actually be more suited to one nearer to the end, for "Household" items. It would be great if they'd post a sign near the entrance with a guide to what is where. They used to have a shed for leaving items that were in useable condition, called the "Swap Shop" but I'm sad to say they stopped offering that, so for that type of thing you'll need to donate to a thrift store or a Habitat Restore.

I have been using this location for about 6 months and each time I've brought items from home I have been pleasantly surprised how efficient the process is. There are several types of recycling (brown waste, green waste, aluminum, cardboard, and a few others including just plain household waste). Now that I've been a few times, its easy.
I've read some poor reviews on this place and I thhink maybe some people are expecting too much from a dump and recycling center. It's kept clean and the staff are helpful and even have a good sense of humor when it comes to the people they have to deal with there. Thank you and keep up the good work!

This County Recycling center is great. The layout is large, logical and it’s easy to drop off you items. The center has white(appliances), brown(furniture), and green(yard waste) dumpsters along with the usual metal, cardboard, glass and oil drop off areas. The center also has a household trash dumpster and a “swap shop” for donations, in exchange, you can pick up an item. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I do not know who it is but it is an older man and my husband and I have gone there twice 15min before 6:00 and he follows us to kick us out so he can close early. He turned 2 people away who came in after us saying that they are closed and need to leave when they still have 15min to dump their trash.

Unless I was at the wrong place (which I'm pretty sure I wasn't), this place is a joke. Recycling...are you kidding me. I couldn't find any bin for plastic and most of the other bins were full of a combination of trash. What is it with southerns and recycling.....or am I just going to wrong places. I am a northerner.

Very disappointed, brought 7 items to add in the swap shop and I found that the county has ended the swap shop area. So much good use has come from it helping some in need but it's disheartening that it has ended.
