The staff and optometrist were excellent. The receptionist was very protective of my personal information and I was very happy about that. The young gentleman that waited patiently while I picked a frame and searched for information for me about other colored frames. He did a great job. Update: Went by today and talked to Sean. He was very understanding in addressing my concerns. He checked both pairs of glasses and determined the online glasses were a little stronger prescription. I have an appointment for a quick exam to verify.
Thanks to Sean for helping me. Changing my review as I think things will turn out in a good way.

My appointment was on 11/12 the exam was thorough and I had confidence in the optometrist, Dr Rutkowski. I wear progressive bifocals and my distance vision changed slightly but my reading vision did not.
Glasses were supposed to take 3 weeks but didn't come in until 12/31. I ordered a pair online using my new prescription. They arrived in two weeks and both distance and reading are great, but the glasses from Elgin Vision are not. Distance is really good but I can't read with them.

Great place for eye care, especially for VSP patients! They helped me get great glasses within my budget. On top of the fact that everyone is pleasant, they know their business and are there to help! I was not pressured in an upsale. Everything was above board and very pleasant!

Rude over the phone, also rude when you go to check in for your appointment. The woman discussing insurance with me wanted to be short and not actually take time for the questions I was asking about their pricing, so I decided to leave. I’ll give my business to 1-800 contacts or a clinic that actually has friendly receptionists. Standards need to be raised, I’ve been in customer service for 11 years and this just isn’t it anymore.

I have used them before and my service and glasses were amazing.. it’s been a couple years and I returned to get new prescription. The front staff are very friendly and seem nice.. saw doc and got prescription. I waited a couple months for my glasses.. I’m on a budget so I had to get monies together. So I went to Walmart to get my glasses.. they have great staff.. got my glasses I could see very well with them.. Walmart employees tried several times and I contacted Elgin vision source and they said it was the lab at Walmart so they tried again still could see with them.. Elgin source said I had to make another appointment and pay for a prescription again $50.00 .. so I was like okay let’s do this.. the doc checked my eyes.. said my right eye had changed and that we need to keep an eye on it. So go ahead and buy my glasses at Elgin vision..so Igor my glasses the guy that gave them to me.. I tried them on he said them a couple weeks and let us no. By the time I got home I realized they weren’t quite right. So I went back after the two or three weeks and they same guy took my glasses back to check them… he stated “he needed to send them back they weren’t right.. he said he tried several different ways and they were right” so he sent them back after re measuring my eyes.. two weeks later I get my glasses and again wear them a couple weeks let me no. I called and let them no that the distance is perfect but I can’t read with them … like doing paperwork and reading.. the front manger I guess you caller: I’m not what title she has. But she said we will give refund.. I said: I would rather yall just fix them please.. I don’t have glasses to wear while waiting on another pair.. this went on for a couple of days. So she said I’ll call you back… 4 days later no call. So I went to Elgin vision source and the manger / front desk manger… came out and ask who’s car was parked near the fire lane.. of course it was mine.. she you need to move it.. I said okay.. then she felt she need to say it again with more of a stern voice..so I go move my car.. I came in we sat down and I ask again if we could just fix the reading part of the glasses.. no.. we are refunding.. we can’t fix them. Our lab must not be able to get your prescription the way you need. She was very quiet and had a very agitated/ stern face.. she also said doctor doesn’t no how to fix the problem… it was a mess.. I will not return and I did tell her I hope she has a better day because she really seemed in a bad mood and didn’t seem like she wanted me there. She stated she was unpretentious I told her I was hurt. I’m a disabled RN … I would have tried to help… but people are just not like that . And I will say I was very upset.. so if you have a prescription that may be challenging don’t go here..

Elgin Vision worked with me and they were very nice. But the place that made my glasses suck. Elgin Vision is getting me a refund.
