Deciding to drive with Design Transportation was a great ride. The equipment is maintained each month when you come through the yard in Dallas,Tx. Miles are above average and hometime is spot on. 85 percent of loads are drop and hook. I had a family emergency is why this week I had to step away and care for my wife 100 percent due to stroke. They got me through the house to rush to her side and routed me back to the yard to turn in truck. Sandy a dispatcher volunteered to get me to airport and Dispatcher Donnie was looking up flights. The Director of Operations got the wheels turning to insure driver and family taken care of while still safety and freight was a priority they care. Thank you to everyone the time driving for you all was great. Highly recommend. They have refrigerators in the truck. tv with direct cable as an option small subscription plan. Orientation and accommodations were great. Thanks again.

I’m confused with all the great reviews. I’ve ran into many drivers that say this company is terrible with dispatching. Constantly booking loads and not being honest with the drivers if it’s drop and hook, live load and bogus appointment times. I’ve been told it’s a woman there that has her favorites and other folks get totally screwed.
Like the one reviewer said” running Houston to Atlanta “ not making money because of incompetent lying dispatchers is just a terrible thing. I wonder if the owner knows how the office workers treat their drivers. Everyone is starving for freight but no need to lie and disrespect drivers. Glad I didn’t apply.

This company driver is an unsafe and dangerous driver. On Saturday 02/24/24, in Dominion, Texas, this driver was stopped in the right lane behind another semi truck on a busy two way highway at a red light. I was also in a fully loaded hazardous semi truck & trailer traveling in the left lane at a speed of 55 mph. As I was approaching the green light, the driver in the picture jumped in front of me. If I had not jammed on brakes in time, I would have smashed into his driver side possibly causing a fatality or serious bodily injury. Nearly miss hitting him, oncoming traffic and or the stop light post. A few moments after, the driver jumped back into the right lane behind the truck he was originally behind. He then began swerving in and out of lanes almost running into other semi trucks just so he could get to a Loves Travel Center, take his break, and smoke his cancer stick. He had no remorse or took no accountability for his actions. I wouldn’t let this man drive a horse. His actions are the reason accidents happen and people are killed daily.

I was here for over a year started off pretty decent. Then they hired a new operations manager and the miles decrease last 4-5 months I was only taking home about $700 a week. And dealing with Atlanta and Houston traffic every other day. Failed to pay me my last check sent two letters no response. So having to deal with the labor department to get my final check. No holiday pay. And they will put you on a 700 mi run for 5 days on holidays. But I'm pretty sure the office personnel are home with their families being paid. It's got the mega carrier feel now.

Been driving for Design Transportation close to 3 yrs now.. Honestly if I had known then what I know now. I would have started as soon as I had the required experience that they recommend. Great staff, trucks are in great shape,the maintenance on the vehicles are very maintained. The mechanics get you in and out ASAP. As for the miles absolutely no complaints at all. Even during the pandemic this company had no issue with freight. When they mention open door policy they absolutely mean it. Orientation was quick and very efficient.Last the most important thing the Home Time. Since I have been here absolutely no problem with getting home. Sometimes I may get home 1 to 2 days early. Great company I highly recommend for anyone especially if you live in DALLAS FT.WORTH area!!!!!!

Driving on I40 East in TN, east of Cookeville - there are “no trucks in left lane”. Your driver spent a long up hill in the left lane going below the speed limit passing 3 trucks and holding up a line of dozens of cars…pass quickly if you have to but that was obnoxious and totally unnecessary!
