Burgess Moving are awesome folks!! I had a last minute move to execute, and after calling many others in the area, I came across Burgess.

The typical issues when moving were what I was trying to avoid, those of which I experienced with previous moves, such as, "bait-and-switch" on pricing, moving companies using brokers for setting up jobs and bs'ing the process, inexperienced movers, and other nightmares.

You All, my experience with this company was top-notch from start to finish! They treated my move with care, and were professional and ethical throughout the entire process, and this energy exuded with all I interacted with. The estimator that came to the house(James) was thorough and walked me thru the entire process with patience and care. My move was more than fair in pricing also, and the movers assigned treated my possessions like they were theirs.

I intend to only utilize this company for any future moving needs.

I rarely write reviews, but I took time for this company because they are providing services above and beyond their competitors. Check em out if you have moving needs... they are probably the best in SoCal, and that isn't an exaggeration.

Burgess made my move so much less stressful than others I had heard of. They coordinated my move with a husband and wife team with North American. My movers showed up on time and gave me the drop off date to my new home in Texas. The company and contractors were very professional and polite. The unload process was wonderful too. The team was on time and all boxes and items were accounted for. I highly recommend Burgess. And a huge shout out to Nathan Doyel, my estimator and coordinator of my move. A+ rating.

We used Burgess to move our office to another suite across town. they did a great job and were careful with our items. The crew was very friendly and worked well with our staff. We had a fairly new refrigerator that we didn't need and they even dropped it off at Habitat for Humanity at no charge. Highly recommend!

Awesome Company & Awesome employees. From my first phone call to make & appointment for an estimate, to the last piece of furniture moved into my new apartment, I was in awe of these movers. I can’t say enough about the work ethics of Mike & Ricky who took such care & pride in moving my belongings into my new apartment. I am very impressed with the amazing customer service for this company. Although it didn't turn out that we used this company for a furniture move, James was very accommodating with a bid during the first call, he penciled in a date, let me check around, followed up and held the date, followed up again and was incredibly courteous when we needed to cancel. I have moved several times in the last 15 years & have always had to hire movers. Burgess was by far, the best experience I’ve ever had.
Rachel coordinated everything and my my guys were Kevin, Andy and Jesse. They worked so fast, but I could tell they were super careful and kept me at ease! I’ll never use another mover! Great experience & will definitely recommend to others!

UPDATE - And just like that we go from three stars to two. I am now doing the coordinating and phone calls now instead of my "move coordinator" who still can't figure out how to initiate an email but only respond with updates AFTER I initiate them. And after everything, my belongings will be delivered to me four days AFTER my delivery window - glad to see they are a company of their word!

I realise they will write me off as a needy or demanding customer, but I don't find it to be rocket science to give updates, send receipts and paperwork in a timely manner without request, or be on time. Customer service gets you EVERYWHERE with me, and theirs has been seriously lacking. "Hey, weather is really bad, truck will be late" - no worries, I get it, tell the driver to be safe! But when it's crickets, you lose me, my patience, or my understanding. Especially when MY job is coordinating the moving of people and things.

Some aspects were amazing. Others need to find a new job...

Nathan came to give me a quote. He is knowledgeable, confident, friendly, attentive. Puts you at ease with something stressful like a move.

Kevin came to pack my apartment up and was great - he took care of my things and packed everything carefully and quickly. We rocked out to rock music the whole time! When he came back the next day with others to load, all were great! Attentive and careful with my belongings.

My “move coordinator” is where Burgess falls short. She should find something else to do because this is NOT her cup of tea. Getting paperwork and documents in a timely manner? Nope. Keeping in touch with me? Nope. Updates? Only when I ask for them. Final invoice after charging my card? Again, only after I ask for it. Apparently calendars, deadlines, initiating emails or phone calls is outside of her abilities. I’m still waiting for my stuff and wondering how much of a cluster the drop off will be because it has not been well coordinated up to this point.

I’ve used many different moving companies over the years. Honestly? I don’t know if I would use Burgess again or recommend them just off her and her lack of abilities... which is a bummer because the rest of the team has been awesome. Burgess has it til the dismount! Guess we will see if they land on their feet or on their ass at the end of this week when I (hopefully) see my stuff!
