My experience with Dr. Ali Khan after being transferred from Dr. Bitar ( he retired )

Consistently saw him schedule appointments for earlier than he'd make it to the office and people were having to wait long periods or just leave un seen.

First meeting summary : Got mad at me for suggesting a change in medication that I read about when I told him the current rX isn't cutting it.

Second meeting a few months later: I told him again the current rX isn’t cutting it and he then suggested the same change in medication I had brought up last meeting that he got mad at me about.

Few more meetings over the course of a year summary: I was prescribed higher than recommended doses and when I told him a RX didn’t work. He only added more and more so I was on max and more than max recommended levels for two medications that were not cutting it for me, so I decided to seek outside help and eventually transferred.

He also got a change in billing staff at some point who then all of a sudden ssaid I owed money that I never paid them from way back. It wasn’t true, but I payed regardless believing they would take honest steps to sort it out. They refused to believe they could be wrong or call the insurance company to verify they were incorrect even when asked to do so. (Because "they couldn't be sure calling the insurance company was actually the insurance company and not some one pretending to be the insurance company")

Dr. Ali-Kahn Provides decent service. The receptionists can be rude at times. They cannot process cards so you'll have to bring cash or checks. Sometimes it can take over 6 days to get your prescription refilled which seems pretty ridiculous to me.

For 45 years my wife had problems with studying, work, although she was able to graduate as a Psychologist and later as an MFT, Dr Khan corrrectly diagnosed her with ADD after one hour of personal attention. Since then and with his support and some medication our lives are 100% better. Thanks Dr, Khan you transformed my life for the better.

I haven't been in. I just called for an appointment and the receptionist on the phone was mean. I feel like if you answer the phone at a psychiatrist's office, of all places, you should be nice and understanding. Just my opinion. Will not be calling back.
