Has gone WAAAY DOWNHILL. Used to be my go-to spot. This season I couldn't find any sneaker...the only had the ugliest colors of Brooks available. Bought from Amazon while inside the store. Not a single pair of Sketchers in my son's size. Waited 8 minutes in line to check out. I was the first person in line. Employees all over the place, but no one helping the 1 register open.

Academy Sports and Outdoors has everything you need for your recreational activities. I can find the things I need and some items I didn’t know existed for my sporting pastimes. Academy Sports doesn’t always have the best price but they do have sales frequently. The sales outcompete prices at similar stores. If you like this review, please like and share it. I’ll have to say they tried but the experience was not positive. I ordered 8 shirts on sale, all different colors. I received an email notice they were ready for pickup. It took them several minutes to locate the packages. It seems the storage lockers are not well organized. Then there were three packages sent from 3 different locations. All were wadded and wrinkled badly. They tried just giving me the bags but I insisted they open them and let me inventory. In the end, 2 shirts were missing. They simply handed me a card with the customer service number and told me I’d have to call that number. Definitely not a “warm and fuzzy” experience. I have called customer service and they told me to call back in a week if the shirts did not arrive at the store. This is not at all what I expected out of Academy Sports.

Plenty of selection, but some issues with size runs. It may be due to time of year and possibly getting new product coming, but many items only had select sizes.

Has great values but make sure to check the prices on your receipts. They will fix if there is an issue but should be right price without all the extra work.

Got exactly what I went in for & there was exactly one left. Hard to find, but I had 2 associates offer assistance & helped me find it. One took me right to it. Then my cashier was nice as well.

I shop here mainly for hunting and outdoor supplies. Even with the current “ammo shortage” that is going on this Academy Sports usually has what you need, or something similar in stock. From cheap range rounds to personal protection they usually have a decent selection of both. Knowledgeable staff and large selection of EVERYTHING. One of the better large sporting good stores I have been to. 5 start all the way.
