I purchased a two-piece sectional at Rooms To Go outlet and received a list of delivery companies I could call to get a quote. I called Better Home Delivery and received a quote over the phone for $110 based on my zip code. They told me they would send me a text later that evening to inform me of what time frame they would be able to deliver. Later that evening I received a time frame of 4-8pm and that they would inform me 30mins to 1 hr prior to arrival. Also that a sales tax of 8.25% would be applied. This added sales tax of course was not relayed over the phone when I initially called.

The next day I called around 5:30pm to see if there was an estimated delivery time because a 4 hour gap is quite broad. I was told they would arrive in 30mins. I later received a text that they had 2 deliveries ahead of me and that they were running behind. They arrived at 7pm.

When the two men arrived, my sectional was in the back of the truck unwrapped without any plastic or protective covering. At the store, the couch was in great condition without any dirt or wear/tear. Also Rooms To Go did inform me that the couch would not be wrapped. Unfortunately, I assumed the movers would wrap it as that has been my experience with other movers and delivery companies. Now, the couch was covered in dirt and filth. One guy wore gloves and the other did not. Honestly, didn’t matter because now the couch was covered in dirt from being in the back of the truck unprotected. I displayed my dissatisfaction with this to the two men. If I had known that they weren’t going to protect my couch during delivery I would’ve wrapped it myself or went with another company. Now I have to pay an additional fee to get it professional cleaned.

I monitored the men delivering my items to my apartment and there were several instances where the furniture was mishandled. For example, there was a double door that the couch needed to get through. Although I informed the men that the other door could be opened, they proceeded to squeeze it through one side of the door. The back side of the couch rubbed against the door to the point where it almost tore. Another time it was mishandled was when it was being squeezed into the elevator and one of the guys knocked it against the ceiling because he was rushing instead of waiting for his partner to assist him.

The 2 stars is because the process of them bringing the furniture into the home was quick, friendliness of the delivery guys, next day delivery option and reasonable price.
