On 8/21/2024 my wife and I hired a moving company, InstaMovers, to move from a one bedroom one bath apartment in Port Richey to a one bedroom 1-1/2 bath apartment in Largo, Florida. We gave them a verbal description of the number of boxes and furniture that was to be moved. The estimate they gave us was $382.97. Included in this estimate was an hourly rate of $95. When we arrived at the new apartment, the price we were charged was $2,012.68!

There were elevators and no stairs at our former residence and a small set of 10 stairs at our new apartment. It took the workers an amazing 8 hours to load the truck! I have completed prior moves from entire houses and that didn’t take this long. The workers were observed taking frequent breaks lasting longer than 20 minutes and they moved very slowly.

We were told by Julien from InstaMovers that if we didn’t pay this horrendous price our things would remain on the truck and we would be charged $1,000 per day storage! We called the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department and two deputies were dispatched. Although they said they believed we were being scammed, there was nothing they could do as this was a civil matter.

My wife contacted the BBB, and we received a response that was full of lies and distorted facts from InstaMovers. Having read the small print in the contract they gave us, it is clear that they may be in the right legally, but ethically and in reality, they acted badly and took advantage of a senior couple.
There are several bad reviews on their website, which I wished we would have read otherwise we never would have hired them.

What we want is to be charged a reasonable amount for this move, and to be issued a refund accordingly.
Failing this, we would like to let the public know about the unethical practices of this company so that they may avoid being scammed as we were.

We have contacted the local news agencies and intend to contact the Attorney General’s office and the Federal Trade Commission in hopes of preventing these scammers from taking advantage of anybody else. We also have contacted a law firm.

The only good thing about this company is the movers they hire. Those people are the only professionals in the company. The company is deceitful in their costs, they will tell you it's $90 per hour and it includes EVERYTHING, don't believe them. Read the contract in full. That is just to hire the movers to move your stuff, there is a $250 truck fee they never mention. Julian (rep) was all lovely until it came time to pay and I needed to understand how we got from 590 to 900, and he was the most calm, rude person I have ever spoken to. Why not just tell the customer ALL the fees? People will still probably choose your company because it is a good rate, but NOW, I will NEVER EVER use this company or recommend this company to anyone. Buyer beware, and DM me for the direct number to these movers.

Our belongings were finally delivered 6/3 after being told multiple times it would be earlier than that. They hired random movers who don't actually work for them to unload our things into the house. While professional and relatively careful with our belongings, we still found significant damage to boxes, furniture, and appliances. The movers did not drop or break anything while unloading so this damage had to have occurred at Insta Movers warehouse. We documented the damage which included a broken leg on a nightstand, a shoe rack that was cracked in half and all of the screws from our dining room table were missing. When unpacking the boxes nothing inside was damaged (however we used our own brand new boxes and packaged those items ourselves, so anything unbroken is thanks to our own bubble wrap). Upon further inspection we found a large dent in the top of our dryer and the back is partially ripped off a dresser. I have attached pictures. Do NOT use this company. They will give you the run around on dates so they can save a buck and damage your things on top of it.

They were able to pick up our belongings in a timely manner (on 5/16) and the movers we had were very professional. However, when we called about four days later for a courtesy just to ask if they had a timeframe for delivery, we were told it would be loaded on Monday (5/24) and would begin transport. We called again today (5/25) for a status update as we had not heard anything, and we were once again told it would "hopefully be loaded sometime this week" and were unable to give us any timeline for delivery. We are also in close contact with another family who is currently using Insta Movers, and when they called today, Insta Movers could not give them any information at all about their belongings, including where they were or when they could expect delivery. This is completely unacceptable. We will be following up on this issue.

Trust the negative reviews. These people charged my elderly parents nearly double their written estimate, destroyed many boxes, broke irreplaceable antique furniture lost/stole about 20 boxes as best we can tell, and delivery was late and ridiculously complex. Stay far away! Wake your friends and call the neighbors, this is a BAD business.

My property was poorly handled by your company, my items are damage and I have open boxes with lost and damage to my property. I have damage to my new home, with holes in my walls, broken staircase, and scratches on my walls. All of my glass furniture have damage due to poorly pack materials from your company. I paid additional charges for my glass furniture to be pack to the highest standard and instead it was wrap in cardboard boxes and a blanket, without any bubble wrap are protected glass care. There wasn’t any signage or labels on any of my glass items to indicate it should be handled with care. I had open boxes busted open with glass material inside, several different missing items, damage to my bed frame. My furniture was not reassemble due to missing pieces and I have a video showing how my bedroom set was just left in the middle of my floor with tools left out with missing parts. My property and home was treated with no respect and I paid everything in full and I expected proper treatment for my property that was left in your care but instead you damage my home and my property.
You, can refer to the videos and photos of my property that was left in your care. I paid for a service from you and this is not how you treat paid customers. You have caused me emotional distress because I have to start from scratch now because of the damage you cause me.

I have to sleep on my mattress because they did not set up any of my furniture because of lost items. There was other people property mix with my items so that lets me know that my stuff wasn’t secured. No one still haven’t reach out regarding this matter and this is just a few pictures and videos. American Home Moving LLC RoyalGrid and Insta Movers INC. has cause me emotional distress.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Insta Movers Inc. during my move MS to FL. I strongly advise against using their services.

Firstly, the final bill was significantly higher than the original quote I was given. They tacked on extra charges without any prior notice or explanation, leaving me no choice but to pay more than expected.

Secondly, several pieces of my furniture were damaged during the move. Items that were in perfect condition before the move arrived scratched, dented, and broken. It’s clear that they did not handle my belongings with the care they promised.

Lastly, I was hit with hidden fees that were never disclosed during the booking process. These fees only surfaced when it was time to pay, adding to the stress of an already bad situation.

Insta Movers Inc. is unprofessional, dishonest, and unreliable. Save yourself the headache and choose a different moving company. I deeply regret trusting them with my move.

Not even tgey deserve a single star, non trusted company at all, never stick to time and day they assign, contineously give the cause for their delay that the truck is broken, the fact they go from the farthest south to the farthest north for picking up from other states. I made sure when I first Nation Wide vendor who hired Instamovers that the addresses I gave for pick up and drop off convenient the trucks they use via the satellite technology they purrpose, they confirmed it and all.calls should be recorded this is the alert they give you once you call them, 2 days before the delivery which took them 1 month instead of 10 days and its because they drove all the way from Alabama to Chicago before coming tp Philadepphia, they asked a 3rd party to call me to manage a way of delivery as their truck cant get into the city, they always argue that you signed and agreed to the conditions, which infact never explained to you at all! I ended up renting a smaller truck to go pick my own stuff from a close by state.They never explain the logistics ahead of time, 20% of my glass stuff are broken and Im filing a claim.

STAY AWAY!!! The worst experience I’ve ever had with any service, period. My wife and I were promised a “white glove service” where we can just “sit back and relax” while our stuff was moved. We hired Axis Van Lines which brokered our Insta Movers, and were SO disappointed with the service. We received the furthest possible concept from that, as the three guys who came to love our stuff were incompetent, inept, and inexperienced. One facetimed the entire time in one our rooms. One threatened us with a felony if we weren’t happy with the service and didn’t want to pay, and one was a teenager.

Four times they told us they were done, and four times we had to physically walk them to drawers, bathrooms, and ENTIRE ROOMS that were not finished. We paid two down payments that were ignored at the time of moving, so when we paid and signed it was more than we were told. We’ve been emailing and calling for 30 days with no resolution over a dispute of over $1000.

They left our place trashed, so we had to hire a professional cleaner before the new people moved into the house. We were planning on leaving the night of when they arrived in the morning but had to spend several hours finding additional things they missed and packing our already filled car with things they assured us they packed.

They left several pieces of our wedding arch, which we couldn’t fit into the car and had to leave. They haven’t resolved our dispute so we haven’t been able to buy Christmas gifts for our family. They haven’t responded to calls and emails every day. STAY AWAY FROM INSTA MOVERS!!!!
