I have been a landlord for 30 years and worked with many property managers. This past 12 months with Cottage Realty has been my worst experience by far.
It gives me no satisfaction to type this as nothing will compensate me for the financial loss, frustration and humiliation I endured. Maybe going to court
would, but I have neither the time nor the money for a lawsuit. So I just to wish to warn anyone looking for a property manager in Humboldt, quoting what I have been told often:
she has 200 other clients to deal with (and I often felt to be in the bottom of the list).
Objectively, aside from how I felt: very little got done, and if I will remember anything, it will be the painful communication between us with alternative facts and the berating and lecturing about
e.g. how it could take 2-3 months to find a new tenants (it took me 12 hours after we ended our contract) and how I am so cheap for not wanting to hire a landscaper for $150 per hour to trim back some plants.
Well, I could go on. As my wife said: she may have been a good property manager at one point, we just don't know because she has too many properties to manage.

Took advantage of our situation by increasing rent and leaving us homeless for 3 weeks, took our money, probably one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with...I'm ashamed they are allowed to even exist. They don't see you as people and just try to get as much money out of you as they can. It seems as though they did everything in their power to screw us over.

Professional and Friendly. They did not try to blame us for problems with our rental upon move out. They were always happy to help when ever there was a problem with the rental.

If zero Starz was an option for sure...anyways rude owner like she didn't care...lazy and unprofessional...!!! Never rent here because she a snotty nose!!! And also lies about price and makes u pay more!!!

Absolute worst at record keeping.
Conveniently lost financial records and even lost my move-in sheet which detailed how dirty the house was.
