We took the Real Austin Tour with Ike as our guide. We instantly hit it off with Ike. Our demented sense of humor made the tour extremely enjoyable. Ike is very knowledgeable the history, music scene and was able to answer our questions. I named a couple of obscure bands and he knew them.

This tour was a great introduction to Austin. We definitely found more things to do in Austin than we knew about, so maybe allow yourself some extra time for those hidden gems. We especially liked learning about some of the murals. This also does a stop at the Capitol a very interesting piece of the heavy front door (not spoiling what it is) Take this tour to find out!.

We highly recommend this tour. Ike was so personable we plan on keeping in touch.

I asked for Ike's permission to post his picture.

This tour was such a fun escape from the city! The Salt Lick BBQ lived up to the hype—absolutely delicious and worth the trip alone. The countryside drive was beautiful and relaxing, and the two winery stops were charming with fantastic local wines to sample.

Our tour guide, Jax, was AMAZING—seriously 5 stars! Her energy, knowledge, and fun, laid-back vibe made the whole experience even better. I’d recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat.

I also loved that it was a small group—it felt personal and not overly touristy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a mix of good food, great wine, and Texas charm!

Ike was extremely attentive & personable: a natural if not gifted Ambassador for Austin. His knowledge of Texas & Austin history was both impressive & interestingly-presented. His knowledge of Austin far surpassed merely pointing out historical sights: He showed usthe historical diversity and fun-stuff for us to do while visiting. We highly recommend him!!!

We recently participated in the "Breakfast Taco Tour" in Austin, Texas, and had an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Conner, was personable, professional, and clearly passionate about sharing Austin with the guests. Our group consisted of 10 guests, including our party of 4.
The pickup location was perfect, right from the hotel lobby, and the van was new, clean, and comfortable. Conner used a microphone to talk while driving, which was very helpful. We visited three taco shops, and our group had a fantastic time. Although we all consider ourselves taqueria regulars, we hadn't experienced Tex-Mex and were not familiar with breakfast tacos. The restaurants we visited had ample seating for our group, speedy service, and exciting taco options.
A unique highlight was listening to music from Conner's band – it was so cool that he shared this with us! I would highly recommend Austin Detours to anyone visiting Austin. Our participation in the tour was a complimentary offer from the hotel, Tommie, Austin. However, our group provided gratuity to Conner for his excellent service.

We had a great time on the Hill Country BBQ and Wine tour with Max! Max was spot-on for departure time, and we rode in a smooth and cool A/C Mercedes van to Hill Country. The ride over was filled with fun conversation and information about each other and Austin. Salt Lick BBQ was first and it’s a large portion, consider the small plate. Max helped with tips on ordering and recommendations. Then we went to Driftwood winery, perched up on a hill with beautiful vistas and surprisingly good wines. We will be bringing some home to SC. Next, Fall Creek winery with great service and fun selection of wines. You spend approximately 45 minutes at each location. The drop-off and pick-up location has great shopping for Austin trinkets. Overall, great experience. Thanks Max!

Ike was awesome! Really great tour, loved the stories, great energy. I like how he ended stating basically--Be kind to each other, and enjoy the moment you're experiencing. Thanks again, it was a great tour of some good spots to show a friend who has never been to Austin. Cheers!
