Updated review: I received a gift box of fruit from them that arrived frozen. They replaced it quickly, and the fruit is excellent and well packaged. I was frustrated that they began sending marketing emails after I visited their web site, and the unsubscribe link wasn't working, but their customer support staff manually removed me from their list. The bottom line is that their products are great, and they work hard to make sure their recipients are fully satisfied, and that's what matters. Pittman & Davis has my appreciation and I'd recommend them highly.

I've been ordering Christmas gifts from Pittman and Davis for seventeen years. Unfortunately, they are not as good as they once were. With the added shipping cost, I am not sure it makes sense to purchase from them anymore.

I still ordered this year for my uncle, because it is tradition at this point. When he called to thank me he told me how delicious the oranges and pears were. The problem is, I had ordered grapefruit not oranges!

When I called customer service to inform them the lady asked if I was sure because I had ordered grapefruit! Am I sure my 70 year old uncle knows the difference between oranges and grapefruit? Yes, quite sure. There is a price difference between the boxes of citrus otherwise I would not have cared that much. The agent did not know the price difference (I did bc I checked the website before I called) so she is sending him some grapefruit.

He also mentioned the pears were SO ripe he had to really go to town on them so they would not have to be thrown away. He said it's been that way the past several years. I wish I had known that. It seems it's time to research a new citrus company.

Rotten Apples and No Customer Service.

I encountered an issue with one of the fruit baskets I ordered over the holidays. A close friend who received the package sent me these photos a day after receiving it, showing that some of the apples, while beautiful on the outside, were rotten in the core.

This concerns me because I also placed additional orders for clients and extended family who may not feel comfortable mentioning any issues to me.

I'm not sure if this is typical of the fruit quality because this is the first time using the company, but when I attempted to reach customer service via email twice over several weeks, they never replied back.

This was my first order from Pittman. I ordered 4 months in advance to get Gold Nugget Mandarins when they are available in March. I paid $45 for 12 and they are not very good. They are hard to peel, dry and somewhat tart. I have had Gold Nugget mandarins before and they were amazing - easy to peel, juicy and sweet, which is why I ordered them when I saw them. They are very hard to find. I doubt if I’ll order from them again just because the product was not very good.

We have ordered from P&D for several years for gifts and for ourselves and have never been disappointed! I have read some of the less positive reviews and feel P&D has timely responded and makes every attempt to correct any errors. I will continue to support this business! Being from So. Texas, I know the difference between store bought and "valley grown" produce. Thank you for a great service!

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience with Pittman & Davis. I placed a significant order for Christmas gifts well in advance, hoping to bring joy to my family and friends with their renowned products. However, Pittman & Davis completely lost my entire order, leaving me empty-handed during the holiday season.

The level of service I received was unacceptable. Not only did they fail to deliver the order, but the communication and follow-up were severely lacking. Despite multiple attempts to get an update on my order, I was met with unhelpful responses and a lack of urgency to resolve the situation.

Christmas is a special time, and the failure to deliver these gifts as promised has caused a great deal of stress and disappointment. I had trusted Pittman & Davis to handle my holiday gifts, but they have let me down completely. I am now left scrambling to find last-minute replacements, which has significantly added to the holiday chaos.

I hope Pittman & Davis takes this feedback seriously and improves their order handling and customer service. This experience has left a sour taste, and I would hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking to ensure their gifts arrive on time.

I do not recommend you purchase here. I placed an order 20 days ahead of Christmas to be sent as a gift, and not only did it miss my selected delivery window, it never shipped until I inquired! I don't quite understand how an order gets lost and overlooked like this before it even ships. This wouldn't be a big deal, except customer service is slow to get back to you and also doesn't know what is going on with your order. I was able to request a replacement, but it took 2 days just to process that. Just be warned in case you need for a certain holiday or occasion, this was much unneeded stress. I expect the delivery services to run into hiccups, not the company itself to make a mess of things.

Received holiday box with good quality fruit, etc., but no care instructions for fruit from P&D? They have always included before. Searched the P&D website for this information but could not find.
