Just one trip across as I am driving from Pensacola to Biloxi. When I head home, I'll be heading to the north and therefore crossing Blakeley River and Mobile Bay on I-65.

Most things have names and this one is no exception. The Jubilee Parkway was completed in 1978 and crosses over Mobile Bay. It is 7.5 miles long and does not have an area for pedestrians or bicycles. It has two lanes in each direction with shoulders and a taller concrete barrier. The road is smooth, other than the occasional thumps from sectional joins.

As bridges go, I'm a fan.

Travel the bayway everyday, very congestion everyday. People stay in the fast lane and hold traffic back. Then when you get to the tunnel drivers slam on the brakes.

Okay - so it’s tough to give a road or bridge a rating - it certainly gets you from Point A to Point B - however, beware - there is almost a wreck on this thing every day - which means traffic jams and slow going - there’s really too much traffic for the size of this bridge. But again - it gets you across the bay! Oh - PS - I-10 which is the newer, higher bridge is called the Bayway - the lower older bridge to the side is called the Causeway - why? Just because.
