Company is good for terrible/new drivers. this company will hire with previous DUI, excessive moving violations/accidents, all minor to most major criminal offenses & failed drug tests upon SAP completion. This company pays the worst in the industry and breeds on paying extremely low wages. Pay is .40$ solo .27 teams there is no pay for orientation & training pay is 90$ per day. Once you start orientation be prepared for no pay for about two weeks/longer. No pay for breakdowns. There is no pay for canceled loads nor extreme delays in loading/unload. My pay ranged from 200-700/week working hard living in the truck 7 days a week. I have encountered numerous loads less than 30 miles that were live & liveunloads. Unfortunately, most weekends it was common to find myself sitting stranded waiting for a load this also occurred doing teams which is EXCRUCIATING. Layover pay is 35$ a day & it is not payed without asking for it and in some cases still not payed. I sat for a record 5 days in Cheyenne, WY stuck waiting for a load and only received a 191$ check that week. Trucks limited to 62mph most are so visibly body damaged & horrendously jerky trying to sleep if teaming. Equipment: Since pay is so low & there is no pay for breakdowns operators will choose to continue in-route thus violations on equipment is common roughly 4 out of 5 trailers and 2 / 5 freshly assigned tractors from my experience. It was so bad I had to avoid weigh stations to protect my CDL.. I suffered so bad here did six months got XP and moved on to better. Currently getting 5 times more pay and significantly more home time. If you need experience or need a job quick, this is a company for you. If you have three months experience, it is heavily not recommended. Do not believe me? Apply! They’ll call you quick!

EDIT: I received my W2 I made 9,200$ BEFORE taxes. I was employed over 6 months receiving approximately 6 or less days off per month. (Company only hires drivers 10 or more days out) Absolutely HORRENDOUS.

The food photos shown here for Western Express were the $32.00 dollars SALMON COOKED BY THEIR ON-DUTY CHEF meals I had purchased in their cafeteria. The food which the Newbies and New hires Orientation receives a Styrofoam served most times cold meal that you can reheat on your own choice. THE HALLMARK INN PHOTOS OF HOTEL are included The training hall for the orientation is clean the driver lounge is cleaned by cleaners nightly and the drivers trash it in an instant and break the showers and toilets so they don't work well.

I work a USG in shoals where I am a guard. Their driver backed in to MY PARKED truck.
It's was in November of 2024. It's January 8th. 2025 and their driver also destroyed my handicap scooter in the back of the truck.
I have not gotten any calls or emails as to why they have not paid for my stuff.

While sitting in a mostly empty Walmart parking lot to get supplies for camping I parked way out on the edge of nowhere. Out of the way nothing around me. Until Western Express truck 13280 decided to closely parallel park behind me. Not a big deal but he got way too close to my airstream camper. My new to me I worked hard for this used baby camper. So I am just a little touchy. But you will see in the pictures he had many open areas so I am not sure why he decided getting all in my new to me space was ideal for him. Not too please about this incident. Grateful he didn’t sideswipe me but just a bit too close for comfort. I added pictures of the open abyss parking lot where there are a plethora of choices outside the parallel spot he opted for.

This place is definitely not worth 5 stars, however the reviews on this company are unfair and I’m just trying to balance it out. They are a good starter company. You come here, you get experience, and you find something better. Only complaint I have is they hired me and my partner for otr team driver flatbed and didn’t have enough freight for us to clear $1000. In six months we got 4 weeks where we went over $1000. If you’re going to team, do dryvan. Good communication from DMs and breakdown. All and all they are with at least 3 stars.

A very intelligent Western Express driver decided to park right here and go to sleep blocking multiple businesses including Frito-Lay in Asheville that also drives trucks from doing their jobs today. Why anybody with a brain thinks this is a good idea is mind blowing, but after reading/seeing reviews on this company makes sense now.

Western Express is a great company for those who come out of driving school. Like all company you will have pros and cons and can make money, that if you put the time to do so.
If you are a complainer who complains about any little thing then Western is not a good company for you. If you want to be home all the time it is not a company for you. If you do not know how to time manage your time, it is not a company for you.
Like all companies you will have those driver not doing the right thing on or off the road and in life blame their own problem on others and try to find the very small thing and complain about anything. The only thing I will have to say is, do not take what I have to say or anyone else you just have to come up with your own opinion.

Be careful they will hit your truck and cause extensive damage and give a low ball offer. Claim has been going on since August and wont contact you back or they threaten that they will deny your claim. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!! If you see this company on the road they will hit you most likely. Hey western if you tell us to contact you we probably won't because it will be a waste of time.
