Memphis TN I never been to but always had some poor short load from Planners here. Then one day came a nice load from a Planner and called her and I was told she would message her to have her call me back and she did immediately. She was also very helpful in finding me more than one long distance load. I feel to this fond feelings of gratitude because there are really good Planners at Swift who do their jobs perfectly while others are lazy as hell. I remember needing emergency feul while in DE because there was no Loves or any other Swift approved feuling stations that I could see from my phone and I could not find one that would be a safe distance to drive to. I sent a message and one girl in Memphis sent me a message back, “Google it.” She is Driver Support. I said what kind of Drivers Support is this? I am concerned I will stop on the too many bridges in the middle. I need better support than this. And three hours later I received a kind response from someone in another location with direction to a closer Loves that never showed up in my phone Google search of all things. I remember her name as I gave her a one star review on VYC Voice Your Choice an app encouraging staff to leave reviews about staff members. And this is not a good channel for drivers to ever use due to serious backlash.

Swift Trailers Summary:

A partial landing gear crank handle.
High gear requires overexertion of strength.
Sometimes, rather you pull the crank arm all the way out or push it all the way in. It'll only register low gear until you find the sweet spot which is not too far in or too far out.
The crank handle will have splits on the end where you grasp.
75% of the trailers require rocking to get the tandem axles to unlock. Most times it'll only be one wheel or all.

Swift Trailers are just uncared for.

I will never drive for that company based on my experience with the condition of their trailers.

I'm writing a late review as my experience is from September of 2019.

If you have a mental disability such as autism or ADHD do not waste your time applying to this place.. not only will they constructively terminate you by placing you on medical hold indefinitely but they will also toss your current medical by writing you up a new one just to fail you. If you do succeed in meeting their demands during a medical hold they'll just come up with another hoop for you to jump through.
I have autism and I went through their orientation. When I disclosed it to the Concentra clinic they did not have an issue with my autism, but apparently Swift does. So they found out about it and brought me into the clinic with Glenda Moses to write me up a new physical which she end up disqualifying me on. I should have realized that that meant her mind was already made up on my autism being a disqualifying condition.. she told me to go get an updated evaluation of my autism which I did with a licensed psychologist. After turning in the updated evaluation she came up with an excuse that she wanted a psychiatrist to do it instead. That's a waste of time because that's not how a psychiatrist works.
At that point I gave up and went to work for a different company. I also had to go through the expense of getting a second opinion because of the failed physical that Glenda wrote up.

I regret not filing a lawsuit for this blatant discrimination.

Everything has been copesthetic every-time im here. Its the only other terminal i can compare to Phoenix lot size wise shop size wise and driver lounge/ shower area wise. And they have the largest training pad I’ve seen yet compared to the headquarters. Lancaster tx and atl would probably fall in next as for size… clean showers and driver lounge and clean yard every-time im here.

PLEASE AVOID
Swift Transportation’s has EXTREMELY shady practices and leave much to be desired. My experience with them was riddled with poor management, unfair treatment, and a complete lack of accountability. I was recently terminated under questionable circumstances. Despite their claims, they refused to provide evidence or transparency, citing vague excuses like “safety saw a flash of light” to accuse me of cellphone use, even though their cameras are outward-facing only.

What’s worse is the apparent retaliation after I raised concerns about safety on thier dollar tree account and considered filing for workers’ compensation due to a workplace injury, thier account managers gaslit me into not filling out my claim in a 100% truthful way and Instead of addressing these issues, they seemed more interested in silencing me. We worked in those 110+ degree trailers for up to 16 hours a day, and had drivers constantly getting hurt left and right.

Drivers deserve better—fair pay, transparency, and management that supports rather than undermines them. If you’re considering working here, proceed with caution. Their shady practices and lack of respect for their drivers make this company a serious disappointment.

Nice terminal. Several clean showers, washing machines and dryers, as well as a nice gym. Large and spacious. Truck repair shop available. Secure facility for staff and drivers.

I called swift recruiting today and the recruiter told me with my 30yrs experience that they could only pay .58 cents a mile ! I laughed and hung up you know, I make 73 centimile, where I'm at right now plus benefits.
No reason they can't get good drivers

One of the bigger Swift terminals, but also one of the least impressive.
Very tight backing area when dropping trailers / parking.
There is free laundry and showers for drivers, and the terminal has been upgraded.
Large location but limited signage to give you any idea where to go.
One of the worst Swift shops I've ever been to. Every time I've ever been there for truck or trailer repair it took way too long and the problem wasn't actually fixed on the first visit. The mechanic staff aren't overly friendly.
The driver lounge staff tries to be friendly, so that's a plus.
It does have a free gym for drivers. One of the bigger and nicer gyms if that is what you want.
There is a Swift run sit down restaurant on site. It closes early (3pm as I recall), the food is overpriced, and while it's better than the vending machines I wasn't impressed.
Overall I'd presonally suggest almost any other Swift terminal, though, especially if you need repairs of any kind.
