Beautiful area. The golf course itself is rough and not very green. Could be it hasn’t come in yet, but it’s rough going. Lots of hills, many water hazards and big rocks. The area is very pretty but who thought this was a good place for a golf course? The staff is wonderful. Super friendly people working here.

I played the front 9 this afternoon. I found the course to be in pretty good shape considering the lack of rain. The greens need a little help but, I assume they'd be much better with some rain also. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helped point me to the first hole as this was my first time there. I played the front tee boxes as I'm not a great golfer and I could easily see that I don't have the shots in my bag to make some of those longer drives. Even from the front tees I found it to be challenging. I really enjoyed my round there and look forward to actually playing the entire 18.

Super cool and unique course. It's short but very challenging, lots of slopes and tight tee shots. Conditions are bad, tee boxes are very firm long them are hardpan, greens need improvement also. But the rates are fair and the layout has character. Good place to have a relaxing fun round.

The course is in terrible condition. The greens are patchy and uneven, and the tee boxes are basically just dirt. It doesn't look like any maintenance has been done in quite some time. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because it could be a great course if someone actually took care of it. I've played every course in the Chattanooga area, and unfortunately, this is by far the worst one. I won’t be back—especially not for $40—until they put real effort into maintaining the place.

I love this course with everything but man, it needs help. Crabgrass fairways, Slow fuzzy patchy greens, and no sand in the bunkers!!!!! I’ve always wanted to help get this course in better condition, it’s a great layout. Don’t fix the layout!!!! FIX THE GREENS!!!! Make temporary ones and plant new Bermuda or Bent (bent is cheaper but not great) and y’all will have the place buzzin. Plant some flowers. I have the ideal area for a driving range when the money comes in. Pull the weeds in the fairway, maintain the tee boxes and fairways, get sand for the bunkers. Guys I would love to help, it has been a dream of mine to fix this place, obviously I’m not rich enough, but I have the ideas and have a family that comes from owning golf courses. I hope y’all get this Montlake and I’ll be glad to help y'all with anything.

This course will challenge you and you’re gonna need to hit some straight shots off the tee as these fairways are pretty tight. That being said, the course is in great shape right now aside from some bare spots on the tee boxes. The greens were a little slower compared to some of the other local courses I play, but they look fantastic.

My first time to play the course. Beautiful place.
Greens were in rough shape & Sandy, from where they’d recently been aerated. Some rough tee boxes too, but the fairways were pretty good, for the most part.
Would like to come play again when course is in better shape.

One of the prettiest layouts you'll ever see. Unfortunately, the course condition needs work. The value is pretty good, and it's not too crowded.
