You will not find a better local shop than these guys. They have the best regional selection of fishing gear, and while I no longer hunt I can't imagine that they don't have anything you want on that side as well. Lots of "fake" reviews on here of late, ignore it, Charlie, Tommy and all the guys and ladies over there do a great job. If you have questions about something ask, if not they tend to leave you to explore to store, but if you need something just ask.

Weather your a novice shooter into hunting or looking for personal protection no matter what your sporting needs may be this is the place for you these guys are very knowledgeable extremely friendly and helpful and they always have the best selection of guns and ammo in town prices are very fair and the guys don't mind answering any question that you may have I definitely recommend stopping in

Go to Rome gun and pawn on Dean Ave. At least there you'll get help when you need it!

So I was a little vague, well a lot of vague in my previous review. I guess it came back to bite me. So in this update I will be alot more detailed as to why I give this rating.

I came to the country sportsman looking for a low rise QD mount for my optic on my AR-15. My iron sights weren't visible through my lens due to a rise issue. I like to be able to see my iron sights through my lens in case my optic fails.

The first gentleman I spoke with asked me if I needed assistance, and as I explained to him what I was looking for he suddenly became more interested in having a conversation with another customer about fishing. So at this point he pawned me off to a younger lady who did attempt to assist me. However, she struggled to understand what exactly I was looking for. Then she passed me off to an older gentleman who was a bit more helpful and knowledgeable but even he couldn't help me much.

At this point I had to leave the store because I had been there for quite some time seeking assistance. As I left the store I started searching Amazon for the product I was looking for "the unicorn" and found it immediately. Now I have a low rise QD mount that my iron sights are clearly visible through.

With that being said. Decades of experience wasn't experienced enough to help with my unrealistic project, but 5 minutes on Amazon was. I didn't necessarily expect to find the product I was searching for within the establishment but was hoping that a local family owned business with "decades" of experience would have at least been able to point me in the right direction.

I love to support local and family run businesses which is why I went to this location. However, after this response to my rating I would definitely recommend recommend going to Rome Gun and Pawn first. If you can't go there, go to Amazon or Walmart!

I would also like to add this is not the only experience I've had where I've felt belittled and spoken to in a condescending manner. My first experience here, I went in looking for a concealed carry handgun. I asked what would be a good brand to carry if I was looking for something in 9mm outside of a Glock. Instead of my question being answered or insight given, I was lectured on why carrying a 45 caliber round is way better than 9mm. I guess first impressions may also make a difference, and I should have went into greater detail to begin with. I do wish to give credit where credit is due, to the young lady and older gentleman that attempted to assist me this review is not about you. It's about the guy that brushed me off from the beginning and it's a response to the "owner".
