I recently had a really negative experience during a move with this company.

Scheduling
I had several calls to discuss what needed to be moved. I had originally asked for four people to help me they convinced me down to 2 and then I begged them for 3. I explained in detail at least twice exactly what would be moved. We agreed to 3 people for $240 an hour.

The Packing
The three men that were sent to help me move showed up on time. Of course they were a lot stronger and in better shape than me but didn't immediately look like they should be moving a lot.
It took them from 9 am to 1 pm to load up my one bedroom house which I felt was a long time.

The unloading
They kept asking me if I needed them to rebuild my furniture. The answer was of course yes. But it got to the point where they asked that I started to feel bad. They asked to go outside the original time and quote, but I didn't want to pay more than 2k for a one bedroom .5 mile away move. They didn't finish the job.

The worst part about all of this is that all of the coats by my front door and a purse were packed by the team and I still cannot find them.

They also left all of my toilette seats up.

I had to have another set of movers come.

I just don't recommend this company at all.

I've actually been using this moving company since before google reviews were a thing😆 they are so professional! When it comes to detailed service work there is a lot of room for unintentional errors. This company has a fantastic and proactive approach to the complex trauma of moving. Fred is a excellent communicator and all the movers I've met have been courteous and efficient. They understand that kindness and being adaptable are their most useful skills. I hope I never have to move again but I would happily employ them for a 4th or 5th time. Prices are correct for the complexity of a bay area move , I can confirm this as a small business owner myself📊

I used One Big Man Moving for a local Bay Area move, and they provided exactly what I was looking for. They were referred by a coworker who had multiple positive experiences with them. I've had bad moving experiences in the past, so I'm always concerned about what I might be getting into. One important piece for me is that everyone is an employee and they do not sub-contract.

From the start, everyone I talked to on the phone was super helpful. Fred (the owner) and Wolfgang were both very respectful, professional, and transparent. From scheduling, to info on how to ensure proper parking for the truck, to helpful tips on packing and labeling to keep costs down.

The day of the move, the 3 movers showed up on time and got right to work. They were all very professional, respectful, safe, and efficient. They were also friendly and clear about what they were doing. We ended up moving on one of the hottest days of the year, but it didn't bother them. They finished earlier than expected, with no issues whatsoever.

I'm sure experiences could vary with a different crew or different conditions, but ours went as well as I could've hoped for. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them, and if I have another local move will absolutely come back.

Can’t say enough positive things about OBMOBT! I just completed my second move using their service. This move Bertin and Gerson were the movers and they helped me move into a storage unit. They were friendly, efficient and professional. They handled all items with care and came prepared (ie: extra blankets). The time I was charged was honest and pricing is fair. Communication from Wolfgang was helpful and responsive. I will absolutely use OBM for future moves.

Got their help for a studio (with a lot of stuff) couple months ago. It involved some extra complexities: changing elevators on one side and a set of stairs and small elevator on the other side.

They had a great “vibe” and handled things professionally since the start. On time, efficient, and nice to work with. Highly recommend them!

Working with these guys was a real treat! From the phone consultation to the loading of our POD to the unloading at our destination, everything about our experience with One Big Man & One Big Truck was excellent. Their prices were very reasonable relative to other quotes we received in San Francisco and they did exactly what they said they would do (eg efficiently load all of our apartment’s furniture into our POD in ~3 hours). Nothing was broke or damaged on the other end! Although I don’t anticipate needing their services ever again, I wouldn’t hesitate if the opportunity presented itself 🙂

These guys were just excellent. It only took a few hours between my first call with Wolfgang, getting an estimate, and signing the moving agreement. Wolf was particularly helpful helpful regarding parking a moving truck in the city; he really knows his stuff.

Come moving day, the movers arrived precisely at the time they said they would and packed everything, with plenty of care, in about two hours. They then immediately drove to my new place and unpacked everything. None of my furniture was damaged or even scratched during the process, and the actual price of the move ended up being very close to Wolf's initial estimate.

My only complaint, and it's a small one, was that the movers didn't verbally mention the "Not to Exceed" price when I signed the contract. The price was still mentioned in the written contract, but a verbal mention have been nice.

Overall these folks are professional, timely, and easy to work with. I highly recommend them.
